Genesis 7:8-9
"Of clean beasts, and of beasts that are not clean, and of fowls, and of every thing that creepeth upon the earth, There went in two and two unto Noah into the ark."
Order in the Chaos
The story of Noah is often remembered for the rain, but the miracle began before the first drop fell.
Genesis 7 describes a world in absolute chaos, yet the procession into the Ark was a masterpiece of order. "Two and two... as God had commanded." Amidst the noise of a society falling apart, the animals instinctively obeyed the quiet call of their Creator.
Safety is found in obedience, not popularity.
Noah looked foolish to his neighbors right up until the moment the rain started. But he didn't build the Ark based on public opinion; he built it based on God's specific blueprint.
The Ark reminds us that God provides a sanctuary when the storms of life roll in. It might require us to walk a different path than the crowd, or to trust Him when the skies still look blue, but His plans are always for our preservation.
Just as the door was open for the animals, the door of grace remains open for us today.
