The theology of Christmas is a theology of paradox.
Colossians 1 tells us that Jesus is the one who "holds all things together." He is the atomic glue of the universe. He flings stars into space and commands the laws of physics.
And yet, in the manger, He became too weak to lift His own head.
The hands that shaped the mountains became the hands of an infant, grasping blindly for a mother's finger. The voice that spoke thunder became a cry of hunger. The God who sustains the universe became dependent on a teenager to feed Him.
He did not come as a warrior to conquer us; He came as a baby to be held by us.
This is the scandal of the Incarnation. God didn't just send a message; He became the message. He closed the gap between the infinite and the infant.
Merry Christmas. The wait is over. The Light has come.
Welcome Him.
The season of waiting is done. Take a moment to simply say "Welcome" to the King.
